Testimonials from last year's convening:

• I attended the November 2025 convening of Growing Homes in Kingston which brought together many people involved in the Hudson Valley farm community to learn about the lack of farm housing and the resulting problems. It was a very informative and moving event. As a person committed to the success of regional regenerative agriculture and young people working in that space, I felt compelled to be part of the solution. A few months after the event, I converted the lower level of my house into a studio apartment and a young farmer has moved in. Thank you Growing Homes for the work you are doing! - Hélène Marsh, Hudson Valley Farmland Stewards
• The Growing Homes convening I attended made me see that there really are myriad approaches to the challenge of farmworker housing. My limited experience seeking out these resources has been that here is maybe a tendency in the NYC metropolitan area to go for the big, model projects. But farmers are often resource-strapped and so any and all efforts need to be considered, from DIY plans to build ADUs to renting a room in a friendly neighbor’s house. We always strive for net zero, for securing permanent assets like land and housing for farmers. of course. But a housing crisis calls for a range of solutions and Growing Homes is meeting that moment. - Sara Katz, Executive Director, Chester Agricultural Center
