Water, Color and Wonder: An open art table at The Abbey

In the old abbeys, the scriptorium was a place where monks made beauty by hand, filling pages with color as an act of prayer and attention. Here at The Abbey we keep a table for the same kind of making, with a lot more play.

Come play with water and color. Let paint bloom across wet paper, mix colors and see what happens. Make a mess, or make something you love. No experience needed, and nothing has to be perfect.

Led by Kathleen, we approach art as a bridge between ourselves and the sacred, between ourselves and one another, and between the different parts of ourselves. Sometimes that bridge begins with a single brushstroke.

Watercolors and other materials are provided, and everything is free. Come for ten minutes or stay all afternoon. Bring a friend, or come and meet someone new.
