Join the NAACP Port Chester Rye Branch as we celebrate 85 years of advocacy, service and impact at our signature annual fundraiser, the 2026 Robert S. Brown & M. Paul Redd Memorial Freedom Fund Luncheon.
Since 1941, our Branch has been part of the ongoing fight for civil rights, equal opportunity and a stronger community, with a proud history that includes men and women who broke barriers and became firsts in their respective fields. As we mark this milestone anniversary, we are proud to honor several remarkable people whose service and accomplishments reflect that legacy.
This year we will recognize Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins, the first African American to hold the office; The Honorable Alfreda Williams, former Westchester County Legislator and recipient of our inaugural Effie Gordon Award; Mr. James & Dr. Mary Lane Cobb, recipients of our inaugural Griffin Family Legacy Award and Walter McClain, honored posthumously, a former Branch President and the first African American police officer in Port Chester.
More than a celebration, the Freedom Fund Luncheon is our Branch’s main annual fundraiser, helping provide the resources that make our year round advocacy, civic engagement, education, health, youth initiatives and community programming possible.
Come raise a glass to 85 years of the NAACP Port Chester Rye Branch, celebrate our deserving honorees and spend an afternoon enjoying good food, music by DJ NY Ritzy, dancing, raffle prizes, networking, fellowship and a few surprises along the way.
Your ticket is more than a seat at the table. It is an investment in the work and in the legacy ahead.
