About This Event

Rope Burn SF

Rope Burn SF is the Bay Area’s only recurring rope skill-share focused on men’s and masculine-of-center rope practice. Our aim is to create a relaxed, supportive environment for people interested in exploring the art of rope, every 2nd Thursday of the month.

Whether you’re completely new to rope, have been tying for years, or simply want to spend time around other people who share the interest, Rope Burn is a space to learn, practice, experiment, and connect.

Each month generally begins with guided instruction or a facilitated skill-share, followed by open floor time for practice, exchange, and community building. Programming changes from month to month and may include foundational techniques, creative exercises, demonstrations, guest presenters, or other topics drawn from the wider world of rope.

We want this group to be fun, open, and welcoming to all levels of experience. Suggested donation is $25, with sliding scale available so nobody is turned away. If you’re new, getting started can feel daunting, but we’re here to help and would love to welcome you. A beginner’s guide and more information are available at www.ropeburnsf.com.

What to Bring

Bring rope, safety shears, and yourself. Feel free to bring books, notes, or other resources if there’s something you’d like to practice or share.

You do not need to bring a partner. Coming solo is completely normal, and there are plenty of opportunities to meet people, watch, learn, and connect with other attendees.

Dress Code

This is a body-positive space where you can choose the level of dress that feels right for you. Staying fully clothed and baring more are equally welcome.

Who Is Rope Burn For?

Rope Burn SF is open to male-identified, non-binary, and gender non-conforming participants who want to learn, practice, share skills, and connect with others through rope.

No prior rope experience is required. Beginners are very welcome.
