Ever wondered how gardeners turn one plant into many? This beginner-friendly class breaks down the three most common ways to multiply your favorite plants — no green thumb required.
We'll cover:
Seed Starting – The most familiar method: how to give seeds the right conditions to sprout into healthy seedlings.
Root Division – Learn how to split an established plant's root system into multiple new plants, a quick way to multiply perennials you already have.
Cutting Propagation – Discover how a single snipped stem or leaf can be coaxed into growing its own roots and becoming an entirely new plant.
After the presentation, you'll put your new knowledge to work in a hands-on propagation station. Choose from staff-selected native plants, herbs, or pollinator-friendly plants, and take home your own start to nurture.
A $10 fee covers materials and handling. If this cost is a barrier for you or your family, please reach out to kkennedy@scgov.net for a code to waive the fee.
