About This Event

Wherever the Mind Is the Body Will Follow

The holiday season is upon us and for many people stress accompanies the season. Stress is a natural human response and everyone experiences stress to some degree, but our understanding of stress and the way we respond to it makes a big difference to our well-being.

The brain is the organ that manages all inputs from our environment, rules over our actions, and functions like a remote control with an infinite numbers of channels. Although the brain is not literally a remote control, it is a vast, multi-channel communication network with neural circuits that can turn specific behaviors, states, or processes on or off with precise control —much like pressing a button on a remote.

Our identification with the thoughts in our mind gives them life. They need our cooperation to be there which suggests in becoming conscious of our thoughts we can program the network channels “our responses” to internalize new habits and patterns of thought.

This workshop will introduce you to 12 premium channels that guarantee responses that reduce stress, quiet the mind, nourish the body and feed the soul, and not just during the Holidays!

Guest Instructor: Deborah Faust works for the Mental Health Association in New York State and has developed holistic mind-body health programming for over 100 organizations across the state. Deborah’s career has focused on supporting families and messaging intergenerational family mental health and healing.

Currently Deborah is Director of a project called; Building Connections and the focus is on raising awareness of mind-body health outcomes when belonging to different expressions of community. Health is deeply social and intertwined with the community’s health. Deborah’s work suggests community is the heart of healing.

Classes at Thrifty Connections intended for adults and suitable for individuals 16+.
