About Nessie Yara: Nessie Yara is a South Florida-based Puerto Rican contemporary artist who creates emotionally grounded figurative and abstract art that explores human connection and the beauty of life’s transient moments. Formally trained at the University of Puerto Rico and Florida International University, her artistic journey began with b/w photography and ceramics before delving into acrylic painting while living in the Florida Keys. Nessie’s work, rooted in the tropical hues of her Caribbean and Floridian upbringing, reflects themes of identity, resilience, and healing.
Since 2014, she has exhibited throughout Florida, including solo shows at the parkland library and the Broward County library system. Nessie has participated in group exhibits at the coral springs museum of art and has received recognition in juried art exhibits. She has also contributed significantly to her community as a board member of the Coral spring’s artist guild and through initiatives like healing with art, promoting community healing and gun-violence awareness. She continues to expand her art journey from her home studio in parkland, Florida, with a forward-looking vision to use her art to uplift and inspire, fostering connections and positive change.
About Jennifer Love Gironda: Jennifer Love Gironda is a native of North Carolina who has called south Florida home since 2009. She studied art at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC where she obtained her BFA and MAEd degrees. Jennifer has taught art in various grade levels, K-12 for over twenty years and currently teaches at Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory in Hollywood and is a National Board Certified teacher. She has been creating a piece of art every day since January 2012, and in the past few years has focused on fashion illustration. She works in a variety of media, including watercolor, collage and loves working with recycled materials, aka ‘trashion’. Jennifer is all about inspiring others, of all ages, in finding their creativity.
About John Potter: South Florida-based visual artist John Potter creates work that lives at the intersection of fine art painting, illustration, and narrative mapping. Operating from his studio, Escape Key Graphics, Potter's practice spans oil paintings held in private collections, permanent illustrated installations for municipal governments, book covers for independent presses, and large-scale maps used by resorts and major boat shows across three continents.
For Potter, every piece begins with the same question: What story needs to be told? This narrative focus, combined with a commitment to craftsmanship and clarity, defines his approach whether he is working in oil on canvas, graphite, or digital illustration. Recent client projects include a series of large-scale marina maps and event illustrations for the Palm Beach and Newport Beach International Boat Shows, as well as mural commissions for Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club and Boca Woods Country Club.
About Tanya GoldMay: Tanya Goldmay is a Fort Lauderdale-based interdisciplinary artist, architect, and cultural leader whose work explores identity, memory, transformation, and resilience. With a background in architecture, art history, and cultural leadership, she has organized more than 150 exhibitions. Her artistic practice combines sculptural textiles, dimensional reliefs, mixed media, and functional art objects, transforming personal narratives into expressive contemporary works.
