This full-day foundations workshop equips licensed mental health clinicians with an integrative framework for working with clients experiencing chronic pain and somatic complaints. Grounded in emotion-focused psychodynamic theory and family systems approaches, the training combines didactic instruction, case vignettes, role-play, and experiential activities to develop practical clinical competency.
The curriculum is infused with cultural humility, explicitly addressing disparities in chronic pain research, the underrepresentation of diverse voices in clinical frameworks, and how client identity factors — including race, culture, gender, and spirituality — shape pain experience and therapeutic engagement. The workshop is co-presented by Liz Chang, LMFT (Unity Collective) and Joel Jin, PhD (Jin Psychological Services, PLLC).
This event is in-person at Seattle Pacifc University's Library Seminar Room.
Parking passes will be sent to all registrants.
