Can I bring snacks?
Most importantly, ABSOLUTELY NO food or drinks are allowed on the game tables. A bumped table can lead to a spilled drink and a ruined game and some of us are a little obsessive about our games. However, you should still bring food and drinks! There will be separate tables for food and drinks. You can bring enough for just yourself or enough to share. A fridge and microwave are available if you want to heat up something mid-way through the evening.
What's a Play-to-Win game?
We have a Play-to-Win game each month. Anyone who plays the Play-to-Win during the evening can enter a drawing to take the game home. You don't have to win in the game to enter the drawing, just play it and try it out. Then, if you like the game, drop your name in. We'll draw a name at the end of the night. You don't have to be present to win, but you may have to wait until the next month's game night to collect your prize if not.
Can I bring games?
Yes! We'll bring games each month, but more are welcome. You'll have more fun if you only bring a few games you are ready to teach. We set up rectangular tables. If you need other table shapes for a game you plan to bring (square, circle), let me know ahead of time and I'll see what I can do. All kinds of tabletop games are welcome including dexterity and social deduction games that may not be strictly limited to a "tabletop". Just no gambling.
The only board game I've ever played is Monopoly. Will I be lost?
I hope not, we love to teach games! I bring games at a variety of levels. And if a familiar game like Clue or Spades or Pit is more comfortable for you, then bring it! Some great games are classics for a reason.
Can I bring kids?
If they are ready to play board games for hours (or sit and read while you play board games for hours), then absolutely! One of mine was ready to play for a few hours at age 6, but another wasn't. It depends on your kids.
Can I bring friends?
Yes!!! Also, you can forward this email. They can let me know if they want to be added to the email list.
Can I come late?
Yes. Come late. Leave early. Whatever works for you.
It's at a church. Is it a religious activity?
No. It's just a regular board game night.
Is it accessible?
Yes. You can park on either the east or west side. Both have ramps to the doors. The inside of the building is also accessible.
Where are the Play-to-Win games coming from?
We go to lots of board game events and sometimes wind up with extra brand new copies of games for one reason or another. We are slowly giving them away as Play-to-Win games.
The door is locked! How do I get in!?!
Sorry! We will lock the doors eventually if it gets late but we are still playing. If you arrive and the doors are locked, give me a call at 405-612-6651.
