Location

Paid street and garage parking are available nearby. Allow extra time to park, enter the building, and reach the fourth-floor classroom before the scheduled start time.

Who Should Attend

This course is appropriate for people assigned to control road users through a temporary traffic control zone using approved Flagger procedures. Participants may work in local government, public works, utilities, roadway construction, engineering, infrastructure maintenance, traffic operations, or related contracting roles.

Training should be selected according to actual job duties. Flagger training does not replace Intermediate or Advanced TTC/MOT training when those higher-level responsibilities apply. Contact Cindy Torres before registering if uncertain.

What the Course Covers

Instruction addresses Flagger responsibilities, communication with road users and coworkers, proper positioning, signaling methods, personal safety, and work-zone awareness. Course materials draw from authoritative sources including the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), Florida Standard Plans, and current FDOT training requirements.

Participation and Completion

Participants must attend the full four-hour class, actively participate, complete the required written examination, and demonstrate the required hands-on Flagger skills. Registration or attendance alone does not guarantee qualification.

Bring acceptable state- or federal-issued photo identification and arrive ready to participate in the performance assessment. Contact Cindy in advance regarding accessibility needs or questions about the training environment.

Registration

One $125 ticket is offered for this onsite class. Registration closes two days before class at 4:30 p.m. Course materials are available at the office, so participants do not need a mailed packet or last-minute self-print ticket.

Tampa Bay Training absorbs Eventbrite attendee fees for this class.

Private Training

Organizations with seven or more participants should ask about a private onsite Flagger class. Travel charges may apply depending on the requested location and requirements.
