Join us for Social Cohesion Dialogues 2026
Join CSRD director Lois Brown, PhD, and Amy Bowers Cordalis [Yurok] and Dean Calbreath for a revelatory conversation about the nature of war, honor, environmental injustice, history and the impacts of colonization.
Amy Bowers Cordalis (Yurok), author of The Water Remembers, is an internationally recognized conservationist, attorney and civil rights advocate for her Indigenous community. Her memoir is an unforgettable account of Indigenous resistance, environmental threats and cultural triumph.
Dean Calbreath, an award-winning independent investigative journalist, is the author of The Sergeant, a poignant and stirring biography of Nicholas Said, a young man born into an African kingdom whose 19th century life spans royal courts, enslavement, freedom and ultimately leads him to the front lines of the American Civil War.
Small bites and beverages will be provided before doors open and a book signing will follow the dialogue.
Book discussions are offered before and after the public dialogue. Visit the CSRD website at csrd@asu.edu for more information.
