In person Class: Handmade Bao Buns (San Diego)

Learn the art of making soft, pillowy mini Bao Buns completely from scratch! Easily steamed, they are even more fun to fill with your ingredients. Create Soft Pillowy Doung from scratch made from a simple yeast dough and steamed until light and tender. For the filling, you will learn to make Sticky Asian Glazed Pork where you gain insight on how to properly create using ginger, garlic, soy sauce, hoisin, sesame oil and a touch of honey. Your fresh Bao Buns will be accompanied with perfectly pickled veggies and a Sriracha-Lime Mayo topping. This class is the best of both worlds as you will get to practice working with dough as well as sharpening your cooking and knife skills. You'll be making Bao Buns at home in no time!

No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. Our events are casual and meant to be fun and instructive, not hardcore. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).

The nature of our classes are set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment. BYOB is welcome.

Classes are intended for adults 18+.
