Tri-County 4-H Homesteading Club Meetings 2026-27

All South Carolina 4-H members from Cloverbud to senior are welcome to join the Upstate Homesteading 4-H Club! Individuals curious about 4-H are welcome to attend one meeting before becoming members.

During the business part of Club meetings, members choose homesteading topics/activities for future meetings.

Meetings locations may vary depending on the choices of club members (base of operations is upstairs meeting room/kitchen of the Walhalla Extension Office: 301 West South Main Street, Walhalla)

Homesteaders meet from 4:30-6pm on the second Thursday of the month.

Potential officers need to be able to commit to attending all monthly meetings.

This is a NON-CUSTODIAL club, adults must stay with the kids they bring. All in attendance (participating or not) need to sign in via Eventbrite.

Adults are encouraged to register with 4-H Online as volunteers with Oconee 4-H (any adult who registers as a volunteer with Oconee 4-H gets one free youth membership).

Schedule:

September 10, 2026 (Membership Renewal Month, Foothills Fair 9/22-26)

• Topic choice and goal setting (what do YOU want to get good at!?)
• SEED SNAILS! Small space seed propogation (also works for cuttings) using upcycled materials and soil! All materials provided.

October 21, 2026 (Pumpkin carving, seed snacks, and seed saving)

• Business - topics for the year
• Activity - bring a pumpkin! We'll provide carving tools and other supplies for carving your pumpkin, cleaning and roasting the seeds, and saving some.
• Any pumpkin type permitted (if it's tiny, though, you may not be able to carve it!)

Membership requirement/Dues: Current 4-H membership in 4HOnline is required for participation in this club. At this time no additional dues are leveed in relation to this club, though that may change. There may be future fundrasising.

(Note: 4HOnline membership is required for ALL clubs. A grace period of 1-2 meetings may be offered at the discretion of the club officers & adult leader)

Custodial Care: Please note that this event and its coordinators do not assume custodial care of youth in attendance. Adults (parents, guardians, volunteers, coaches, teachers, or other chaperones) must be present for the supervision of youth participants.
