You will learn to move and adapt when distance, balance, timing, contact, and pressure change. The goal is to help you remain functional when a situation does not follow a planned sequence.
Training is hands-on but controlled. The instructor adjusts the pace and intensity so beginners can participate safely while developing practical skill.
This introductory class also gives you a chance to meet the Maryland Systema training group in Takoma Park.
Students train together without belts, ranks, tournaments, or competitive goals. The environment supports steady improvement, direct feedback, and practical learning.
Your first group class is free. Afterward, you can decide whether you want to continue attending regular weekly classes. There is no pressure or obligation.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Athletic shoes are recommended unless the event instructions state otherwise.
