About This Event

The U.S.–Nigeria Civic Leadership Forum 2026 brings together Nigerian-American leaders, policymakers, public affairs professionals, academics, business leaders, and civic stakeholders for an afternoon of substantive dialogue, relationship-building, and policy engagement in Washington, D.C.

Hosted by AfriPAC (African Public Affairs Committee), and Asha Strategies the Forum is designed to strengthen Nigerian-American participation in the institutions and conversations that shape public policy while advancing informed engagement around the U.S.–Nigeria relationship.

As Nigeria marked its 66th year of independence, the Forum will examine the evolving relationship between the United States and Nigeria, the role of the Nigerian diaspora in American civic and public life, and how Nigerian Americans can build stronger channels for sustained engagement with policymakers and institutions.

Through focused conversations and networking, participants will explore issues including U.S.–Nigeria relations, civic participation, public policy, diaspora engagement, leadership, and the growing role of Nigerian Americans in American public life.

Who should attend

The Forum is designed for professionals and leaders working across government, public policy, diplomacy, business, academia, civil society, public affairs, philanthropy, and the Nigerian and African diaspora.

Whether you already work in policy and government or are seeking a more meaningful way to engage in civic and public affairs, the Forum offers an opportunity to build relationships, exchange perspectives, and connect with others working at the intersection of the United States, Nigeria, and the diaspora.

Registration

Registration includes access to the full afternoon program, networking, and refreshments.
