Candlelight Dinner With Edgar Allan Poe

Join Us for An Evening of Dinner & Dark Tales with Edgar Allan Poe!

Get ready for a spooky night celebrating the master of mystery and macabre. Experience haunting tales as we dive into Poe's chilling world. Don't miss out on this unforgettable evening filled with dark poetry and thrilling stories!

Step into the flickering candlelight of Shields Tavern located inside the historic area of Colonial Williamsburg. This event will be an unforgettable evening with Edgar Allan Poe. Gather around the table for an intimate candlelight dinner inspired by the atmosphere, mystery, and storytelling of nineteenth-century America. As dinner is served, Edgar Allan Poe will entertain you with stories, conversation, and selections from the works that made him one of America's most enduring literary figures.

This is not a lecture. It is an evening spent in the company of Poe.

Over dinner and candlelight, discover the man behind the legend: the poet, storyteller, critic, Virginian, and master of the mysterious. Expect wit, melancholy, fascinating stories, and, naturally, a touch of the macabre.

Held within the extraordinary setting of a restored eighteenth-century tavern, this special Halloween-week experience brings together historic atmosphere, fine food, candlelight, and live interpretation for an evening unlike any ordinary dinner.

Come for dinner.

Stay for the tales.

And when the candles burn low, perhaps you'll understand why Poe's stories have haunted our imaginations for nearly two centuries.

Seating is limited for this intimate candlelight experience.
