Fabio Mittino & Bert Lams play the music of Thomas De Hartmann

Celebrating 20 years of musical collaboration, Fabio Mittino and Bert Lams will present a series of concerts in fall 2026 centered on their acclaimed new album, A Life in Music.

Released on the Pentatone label, the album traces the remarkable artistic journey of composer Thomas de Hartmann through 25 guitar arrangements by Mittino and Lams. From early Romantic works to the spiritual music created with Gurdjieff and later explorations of jazz and modernism, the collection reveals a lifetime of creativity and transformation.

Performed on vintage archtop guitars, these interpretations offer a rich, intimate sound rarely heard in classical music. Drawing on decades of shared experience and their roots in Robert Fripp’s Guitar Craft tradition, Mittino and Lams bring exceptional depth, sensitivity, and cohesion to this repertoire. Their performances celebrate not only de Hartmann’s extraordinary legacy, but also two decades of artistic partnership dedicated to innovation, expression, and discovery.
