Join us for a special outdoor experience at Saturiwa Conservation Area, a remarkable 94-acre private conservation preserve tucked away along the scenic St. Johns River in Elkton, Florida.

This is more than a nature walk. It’s an opportunity to discover a beautiful corner of Old Florida, connect with nature, and learn firsthand what it means to protect and restore our natural environment.

Meet the Stewards of Saturiwa

Since 1989, Mike and Carole Adams have dedicated themselves to caring for this extraordinary property, restoring native habitats, protecting wildlife, and sharing their passion for conservation with others.

Mike is an accomplished conservation ecologist, researcher, educator, and author of Saturiwa Conservation Area: Natural History and Ecological Field Guide. His decades of experience offer a fascinating perspective on Florida’s ecosystems, wildlife, and environmental history.

Carole has also contributed to the property’s stewardship, including beekeeping and honey production.

Together, their story is a wonderful example of how individuals can make a lasting difference in protecting the natural world.
