Escape to the Blue Ridge Mountains for a creative retreat unlike anything else.
Nestled in the mountains of North Georgia, William Holland School of Lapidary Arts offers immersive week-long retreats where adults can disconnect from daily routines, slow down, and spend their days creating with their hands. Whether you're looking for a new creative outlet, a meaningful getaway, or simply time to recharge, you'll find a welcoming community and an experience that feels both productive and restorative.
Guests stay on campus, share meals together, and spend their days in fully equipped studios exploring jewelry making, stone cutting, enameling, metalsmithing, wirework, casting, and dozens of other hands-on arts. No experience is required. Many attendees arrive as complete beginners and quickly discover the satisfaction of turning raw materials into something beautiful and uniquely their own.
Unlike a traditional vacation, this is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the creative process. Mornings begin in the studio, afternoons are spent bringing projects to life, and evenings offer time to continue creating, attend informal demonstrations, or simply relax and enjoy the mountain setting. The atmosphere is friendly, unhurried, and free from the pressures of everyday life.
What often surprises first-time visitors is the sense of community. People travel from across the country to attend, and many return year after year for the friendships, inspiration, and creative fulfillment they find here.
Whether you join us for a week-long retreat or a shorter weekend workshop, you'll leave with finished pieces you created yourself, new skills, lasting memories, and a renewed sense of creativity.
