Oil Painting at Ferndell Trail, Griffith Park

Join us for a small-group oil painting session along Ferndell Trail, a shaded woodland path in Griffith Park, just below Griffith Observatory.

We'll gather at the small pavilion behind Trails Café, surrounded by trees and the quiet atmosphere of this historic corner of Los Angeles. The setting offers opportunities to paint from observation, with a monthly theme and curated image references available for those who prefer to work from a photograph.

Our two-hour sessions are open to adults of all experience levels. Whether you're discovering oil painting for the first time or returning to an established practice, you'll have time to explore, experiment, and receive individual guidance.

What to expect

• Traditional oil painting with carefully selected non-toxic materials, free of cadmium, cobalt, and other heavy-metal pigments, and an odorless, non-toxic solvent.
• All materials provided, including setup and cleanup. Just arrive ready to paint.
• Small groups, limited to eight participants.
• Individual instruction and feedback, with room to develop your work at your own pace.
• No previous oil painting experience required.
